The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.

In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Initial

AHA’s ACLS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.

This advanced course highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Update

  

The ACLS Update Course is for students who have a valid ACLS card and need to recertify or update their training. 

AHA’s ACLS Update Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Initial

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Course description:

This course is for health-care providers who either direct or participate in any aspect of  patient care during neonatal resuscitations. The Neonatal Resuscitation Program is based on the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovasculer Care of the Neonate. 

NRP Course Process:

This course does not include the Textbook or Online Exam.  

Step 1, Create an AAP ID: Prior to the course, participants must create an AAP ID to be able to access Course Progress and students Course Completion Card.  AAP Login/Create Account: AAP Login/Create Account: AAP Login

Step 2, Pre-study: Participants must review all 11 Chapters in the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 9th Edition in preparation for the NRP online examination. 

Step 3, Online Exam: Prior to attending the Instructor Led-Event part of the course a student MUST successfully complete the eLearning Part 1: Please purchase ($75) complete the Part One NRP Advanced Provider course through AAP. The Instructor Led event wil go over the advanced cirriculum. Please print out your NRP 9th Edition Advanced Provider Certificate upon completion.

Step 4, Skills Session: The final part of the course is the mandatory classroom Skills Session .  You must complete your classroom portion within 90 days of completing your NRP eLearning.  After you have completed the skills session, you are required to log-in to your AAP account, complete the survey and then you can access your NRP Course Completion Card.

 


 

HeartSaver CPR AED (optional First Aid add on)

PLEASE READ: IF YOU ARE A HEALTHCARE PROVIDER, IN SCHOOL TO BE A HEALTHCARE PROVIDER, OR ATTEMPTING TO  MEET EMT PREREQUISITES, THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT CLASS FOR YOU. YOU NEED BLS.

     The course teaches the basic techniques of Adult,Child, Infant CPR, and use of an AED.  Students also learn to use barrier devices in CPR and how to administer First Aid for choking victims. Designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR AED to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.

EKG Interpretation

 

  • Foundations of Electrophysiology: Cardiac anatomy, cellular depolarization/repolarization, and the electrical conduction system.
  • EKG Basics & Techniques: Proper lead placement, understanding the ECG grid (voltage/time), and systematic analysis approaches.
  • Rhythm Interpretation (6-Second Strips):
    • Sinus Rhythms: Normal sinus, bradycardia, tachycardia, arrhythmia.
    • Atrial Arrhythmias: AFib, AFlutter, PACs, SVT.
    • Junctional & Ventricular Rhythms: Junctional escape, PVCs, VTach, VFib.
    • Heart Blocks: First-degree, second-degree (Mobitz I and II), and third-degree (complete) AV blocks.
  • EKG Interpretation:
    • Hypertrophy & Bundle Branch Blocks: Left/Right ventricular hypertrophy and LBBB/RBBB.
    • Ischemia & Infarction: Recognizing ST-segment elevation/depression, T-wave inversion, and ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) localization.

BLS or HeartSaver CPR Instructor

If you are interested in becoming an AHA BLS or Heartsaver Instructor, this is the class for you! American Heart Association requires this course to be the first step in your instructor training process. The course itself requires you to have completed the AHA Instructor essentials and the purchase of the instructor manual prior to your course date. Please keep in mind that as an instructor you will need other materials to properly teach after completing the course with us.

AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)

This course addresses principles of fetal heart monitoring and may be used as a knowledge assessment tool to validate the comprehension of experienced perinatal clinicians. This course includes lectures and hands-on skill stations, including performing Leopold maneuvers, placement of an intrauterine pressure catheter and fetal spiral electrode, interpretation of fetal monitoring tracings using a case-based approach, identification of physiologically based clinical interventions, and communication and risk management principles. This course can be used to support preparation for certification examinations. There is a recommended renewal date every two years for the Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course.

Learning Outcomes:

• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring using NICHD terminology within a safety culture framework of interdisciplinary teamwork

•Describe clinical interventions and related maternal-fetal physiology to optimize fetal oxygenation

• Demonstrate collaborative communication in the perinatal setting

• Demonstrate common perinatal procedures related to fetal monitoring

Nursing Contact Hours/CME Credit:

11.5 total nursing contact hours/11.5 CME credit available through January 31, 2028 (0.5 hours may be used towards pharmacology hours).

Course Format:

Successful completion of online prerequisite education is required prior to attending the one-day in-person portion of the course.

• prerequisite online learning approximately three and half hours.

• in-person is eight hours (cannot be taught virtually). Nursing contact hours/CME credit will be awarded after the successful completion of the online knowledge validation test and evaluation after the in-person course and is required to receive nursing contact hours/CME credit for the course.
